Birth Options

There are so many birthing options available to expecting parents today. Here is a list of questions to help you decide how you want your labor and delivery to proceed.

  • Have you decided where you will deliver your baby? Will you deliver in a hospital, birthing center, home or even in water?

  • Have you decided who will deliver your baby? Will your Ob/Gyn deliver your baby or will you opt for a midwife or doula?

  • What type of birth are you planning?

  • Are you aware of other birth options available to you?

  • What are you going to do to control labor pain? Will you use breathing and relaxation techniques or medication?

  • What about after the baby is born? Will you bank your baby's cord blood stem cells?

  • Will you arrange in advance for Expanded Newborn Screening to be done on your child to check for metabolic or genetic diseases?
